Ah, the practice that convinced me blogging might be okay!

This is Toby.  He came with my first apartment when he was nine weeks old.  He is now 19 years old—we've been through a lot together!  In this picture Toby was in his prime while I was just out of grad school (the photo was originally on film, I need to adjust the digital copy a bit).  We're both a bit older and crankier now, and I've added a few more cats to the household (not to mention those horrible dogs!), but Toby manages to forgive me and is still my wonderful cat.
