Our Brave Captain Kirk

Sing me a chantey, to make my heart glad,
Sing of the vessel, the finest we've had,
Sing of her captain, a strapping young lad,
Oh sing of the Enterprise, and of brave Captain Kirk.

"Oh, give me a tall ship, and a star by to steer--
The sails are all gone, but the stars are still here,"
Thus spoke our captain of the ship he held dear,
Yes he spoke of the Enterprise, that's our brave Captain Kirk.

She was a fine starship, the finest to sail;
She held fast together through the ion-storm gale.
So let's raise our glasses of Romulan ale
And drink to the Enterprise, and to brave Captain Kirk.

(Now there's many fine captains, and many I like,
I've the highest regard for her first captain, Pike.
But that boring Picard should go take a long hike...
Oh, there's only one Enterprise, and just one Captain Kirk.)

He was loyal, courageous; duty he would not shirk,
He was never afraid, though grave danger might lurk,
That's why of all captains the best still is Kirk,
So here's to the Enterprise, and to brave Captain Kirk.

The age of adventure, oh, it sadly is past.
Even the finest of starships forever can't last,
But a ship's story lives on longer far than her mast,
So remember the Enterprise, and her brave Captain Kirk.

Outer space was her ocean, the stars were her sea,
Boldly she went, strange, new worlds for to see,
Raise your Saurian brandy, and drink now with me,
Once more to the Enterprise, and to brave Captain Kirk.
